新时代跨境电商应用型人才培养国际研讨会即将召开

2018科技创业国际培训班暨新时代跨境电商应用型人才培养国际研讨会将于4月23日至5月12日在中国杭州举行。本次研讨会由联合国教科文组织职教联系中心(浙江经济职业技术学院)、科伦坡计划技术教育规划学院、中国(杭州)跨境电子商务综合试验区、浙江省对外服务公司、杭州众智跨境电商人才港联合主办。开幕式由浙江经济职业技术学院副校长黄春麟教授主持。

INTRODUCTION

Background

Technologyis opening up a universe of opportunities, unimaginable before.Entrepreneurship, like technology, has added another dimension to the humanlife. It is impossible to not notice that all forms of employment today havearisen from some or other form of entrepreneurial venture.

Businessauthorities believe that this century tends to lean heavily towards an economyprimarily driven by technology, where individuals have to recognize, envisionand predict technology opportunities so as to join the ranks of futureentrepreneurial leaders. Entrepreneurship and technology both are products ofthe human genius and equally marvelous is the compound that is formed bymerging the two together for benefit of the society. From entrepreneurship forprofitable purposes to social entrepreneurship, the world is now welcomingtechnopreneurship.

Commercializationis a highpoint in Technopreneurship - the seal of transforming technology-basedideas, products and industries into profitable entrepreneurial projects.Commercialization as it concerns technopreneurship involves identifyingproblems of customers, solving these problems and delivering it to thecustomers in a desirable format.

Nowadays,for convenience and faster transaction, people who have access to the internetresort to e-commerce (short for electronic commerce), which is simply put,transacting through the internet. E-Commerce may be in the form of internetbanking, online ticketing and shopping, and electronic payments.

Usinge-commerce has benefits which revolves around the fact that it eliminateslimitation of time and distance, thus, lowers costs and streamlines operations.E-commerce may lead to intensified price competition,as it increases consumers'ability to gather information about products and prices. One can then deducethat e-commerce is one tool towards a successful technopreneurship.

TVEThas the following strengths that can develop advocacy for technopreneurship ande-commerce. TVET trains personnel for production processes which directlyaffect the country’s economy. Additionally, TVET links to the community,private enterprise and public agencies. TVET has existing infrastructure andteaching resources useful for values orientation towards technologyentrepreneurship, and it has a reservoir of information that can be usefultowards resolving socio-economic problems.

Statementof the Problem

Thechallenges we face at present are concerned with making TVET system moreneed-based and effective, more dynamic and responsive to the changes takingplace in the industrial scenario. The technological changes happening in theworld forces the TVET institutions to strive for excellence. They should beglobally competitive in order to produce graduates who can compete in theinternational arena.

Inrelation to above, CPSC has identified two emerging subjects that would helpmake TVET in member countries more relevant to the changing times, which areTechnopreneurship and e-Commerce.

Understandingthe best practices of countries with successful implementation of these twoaspects such as the Philippines, Singapore, and China, is one of the ways bywhich member countries of CPSC could learn and possibly adapt these concepts intheir respective countries.

Objectives

Generally,the program aims to impart understanding of technopreneurship and e-commerceand help participants design plans to embed in the TVET system of theirrespective countries. Furthermore, this program aims to further the awarenessof the participants on the relevance of technology entrepreneurship educationtoday specially in TVET and the need to redirect a significant critical mass ofTVET graduates from wage employment to technopreneurial careers.

At theend of the training program, the participants will be able to:

Have adeep understanding how technopreneurial ventures are able to achieve growth andimprove local and global competitiveness;

Describethe profile of a successful technopreneur;

Developa mindset that stresses entrepreneurial teaching and learning; and

Identifythe uses and benefits of e-commerce

ExpectedOutput and Outcome

Participantsknowledgeable in concepts relating to Technopreneurship and e-Commerce.

Policy ActionsPlans that will enable respective TVET authorities in represented countriesenhance the current role of TVET in developing a culture of technopreneurshipand e-commerce.
